Product description
Historic implementation. BioAuthorizeLAN was a fingerprint-based network authentication system, developed by Fusion Biometrics India. It allowed businesses to restrict access to data over local area networks to authorized personnel, and users could log on to their computers by touching the fingerprint sensor. The system could also lock a PC by screen saver, with further unlocking by a valid fingerprint.
The system did not store fingerprint images. It converted fingerprint information into a mathematical template and then encrypted it using 128-bit 3DES encryption. Verification of fingerprints was done with encrypted fingerprint data.
BioAuthorizeLAN included protection from accessing a workstation under duress. If a user was forced to access a workstation by someone, the user could silently notify the security system by scanning a different finger, which indicated an attempt of such access.
