SentiVeillance Server

Face identification and movement tracking for video management systems (VMS)

SentiVeillance Server is a ready-to-use biometric face identification and movement tracking software designed for easy integration into operating video management systems (VMS). The software analyzes live video streams, which are served by a VMS from surveillance cameras.

The list of possible uses includes law enforcement, security, attendance control, visitor counting and other commercial applications.

Designed for installation on server hardware which is running under Linux.

System Requirements

SentiVeillance Server is designed to receive video streams from video management systems (VMS). SentiVeillance Server software installations and VMS installations are expected to run on separate machines and communicate over network.

There are specific requirements for VMS and SentVeillance Server software.

System requirements for video management systems (VMS)

SentiVeillance Server software uses face biometrics to perform persons identification and tracking in video streams, which are received from VMS. The results of SentiVeillance Server operations are sent back to the VMS.

SentiVeillance Server is designed to be used with the following video management systems (VMS):

A VMS should be deployed on hardware which provides enough resources for generating specified resolution video streams and storing video for a specified time frame. Please refer to VMS manufacturers for specific system requrements.

System requirements for SentiVeillance Server software

SentiVeillance Server software is expected to run on a dedicated PC or server hardware with Linux OS, which does not run any non-related services or applications.

Each SentiVeillance Server installation has the following system requirements:

  • PC or server with x86-64 (64-bit) compatible processor:
    • 3 GHz or better processor with 4 processor cores is recommended for a SentiVeillance Server, which processes surveillance data from 1 or 2 video streams. Video processing from more cameras will need a graphical processing unit (see below).
    • SSE2 support is required. Processors that do not support SSE2 cannot run the SentiVeillance algorithm. Most modern processors support this instruction set, but please check if a particular processor model supports it.
    • At least 2 processor cores are required to process surveillance data from one video stream with several faces in a frame.
    • If large number of faces in a frame is expected, more processor cores, more powerful processor or even multi-processor server may be required to process surveillance data and keep the acceptable performance.
  • A graphical processing unit (GPU) is needed for a SentiVeillance Server, which processes surveillance data from more than 2 video streams.
    • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU or better is recommended for systems with up to 10 cameras.
    • 1 GB of vRAM is recommended for any amount of cameras.
2 GB of vRAM is recommended if monitor is used.
    • Compute Capability 3.5 or better should be supported by the GPU.
    • CUDA 8.0 toolkit or newer is required
    • cuDNN 7 library is required.
  • At least 8 GB of RAM.
  • Network connection. At least 1 gigabit per second data transfer rate is recommended for real-time processing of multiple high resolution video streams.
  • Linux specific:
    • Ubuntu 16.04 OS
    • glibc 2.11.3 or newer
    • GStreamer 1.2.2 or newer with gst-vaapi plugins installed for hardware accelerated video decoding
    • libgudev-1.0 164-3 or newer
    • wxWidgets 3.0.0 or newer libs
